300 SR (Generic Version). I'm going up to 400 tomorrow. Also take 100 Adderall ER, and the occassional .5 mg Klonopin.

Why so high? Tell me how it goes. I had a hard time with 400 of the brand version.

The IR defintely fights depression the best for me. I take it with a beta blocker for the shaky hands which takes the edge off somewhat.

You are right, genaric is weaker than brand. I'm giving 400 mg a try now.

Thats for sure!

I'm taking 400 mg generic, and it seems prety close to 300 mg brand. More acurate would most likely be: take 50% more generic for you brand dose.

That's surprising to me because I never felt any difference between Wellbutrin and its generic.

I'm still taking 400 mg a day of the generic, and that seems to work.

Sebastian,

I hope the wellbutrin (generic) works out for you. As for me, I've gone up from 300 too 400mg for one week now and don't feel all that different except for moments of the day when I "think positive" and manage to decieve myself. I'll give the 400 another week, but I've been on this dose before (by itself, with effexor, with prozac, with celexa, with buspar...........) and nothing really works for more than a month or two. I guess I'm just lucky that I never hit a deep depressive state for too long and just have the slowly dripping "water torture" effects of dysthymia.

I've just heard there's a new product called Poundera. You can get it either at pharmacies or hardware stores. Inside the prescription bottle there is a large hammer, instructions say to pound oneself in the head 1-2 times, 3x times daily to alleviate depression. If that does not work, increase dose. I'm thinking of giving it a try.

Wellbutrin users-plse answer my thread below .Thx (nm)

double the generic?

Anyone try 600 mg generic in place of 300 mg brand? Lately I've been taking 200 mg at a time with better results. Just have not taken more than 400. Seriously considering 3 intervals of 200 mg, just for the energy. Just wonder if there is any bad result from this. I will probably start today anyways.

This is a statistical result, and it is based on brand name Wellbutrin, but the risk of seizure is about 15 times higher at 600 mg than at 400 mg of the SR formula, or 450 of the regular stuff. The risk of seizure rises exponentially, and the maximum dose has been set solely with seizure risk as the determinant.

If you seize while driving a car, for example......

Please, do not play with larger doses of this drug. If the generic does not provide similar results to the branded drug, get the branded drug. You're playing with fire.

don't double the generic!

You are right, I never made it to 600, 500 was too strong. Now I am trying to decide between 4/100's or 3/150's?

With the 4/100's I get tired in the evening. But it is imposible to try the 150's with out ordering them.

I don't understand why I need more of the generic for the same effects.
