ADD Wellbutrin experiences

Posted by LeadingZero on September 7, 2004, at 19:39:06

I have an appointment with my pdoc comming up in a week or so. I'm not taking anything right now, but last time we spoke he mentioned that I might want to try Wellbutrin.

I have ADD with dysthymia. I hyperfocus a lot. I have an addictive personality.

Is there anyone else like that that has tried Wellbutrin? How is/was it? Were you taking anything else at the same time?

Thanks in advance,

LeadingZero

I have dysthymia with ADD symptoms and found Wellbutrin moderately effective for both. I'm not sure what you mean by an addictive personality, but if you are referring to problems with substances such as nicotine and alcohol, Wellbutrin would tend to reduce cravings for both, as it is dopaminergic.

I really mean obsessive. Laying in bed solving problems I'll never face, playing computer games all night, reliving conversations, revising and rerevising unimportant messages to make them sucinct.

No substances. I was raised into abstiance from recrational substances, and I can't seem to break the habit of doing them.
