If so, what was your experience? Before starting, how was your blood pressure? What effect did they have on it? What symptoms was it targetting, and was it effective for it?
Thanks

i did, mainly for anxiety-induced sweating, which has since gone away by itself. But no, I didn't notice anything, good or bad.

My anxiety has a strong physical component. I have found atenolol helpful for symptoms such as jitteriness, somewhat fast pulse, intense anxiety in certain situations. (I was, of course, checked for thyroid and other problems.) My blood pressure was around 110/70 to begin with. The beta blocker drops it, but not enough to cause major problems.

I am on 75mg Atenonol 50 mg am and 25 mg pm since I had a run of V-Tach almost a year ago. I have severve GAD with some panice attacks. The Atenonol is often used for SAD on an as needed basis. For me yes it slows everything down but...if I panic I break through and get the whole panic attack going. So overall its not very effective for GAD or PA but helps with some SAD. Now I just started Klonopin .5 bid and that combo helps a lot. Matter of fact...I should have done benzo's years ago. I am on Atenonol for life..so whats one more pill to take now? I feel "normal" again on this combo so far. YMMV

I'm taking inderal LA, 60mgs once a day for high blood pressure and anxiety. I find the long-acting inderal much smoother than regular inderal. It's the closest thing to a benzo for me - it relaxes at a deep level and there's not much body load, the long-acting variety is very clean. (at least for me)
I wish I could add a benzo but the docs in this part of the country seem to be against any controlled substance.
