I was increased from 75mgs. of Lamictal to 100mgs. six days ago and have been experiencing bad headaches, slight sore throat and ears that last all day, and night. I can't stand it!! Also have pain behind my eyes that is very uncomfortable. I've taken my temperature and it is normal. I take sub-lingual drops for allergies so know it's not allergies. Please, if anyone knows anything about Lamictal and these symptoms please help!!!

If i were you i would contact the doctor, maybe nothing could be a migrane.. but talk to the doc anyways..

My first time around with Lamictal, it produced a persistent sore throat, along with dry skin on my face and ears.

I had the headaches and the slight sore throat. Also a very slight low grade fever. It felt a little fluish and I didn't immediately associate it with the drug. I actually started it twice and I had these initial symptoms both times. The symptoms subsided and everything was fine. I think others have had these symptoms as well.
Your body is probably registering some sort of mild reaction to the drug and if you have concerns or find you're getting worse, head to the doctor. As you may already know, be on the lookout for any sores in your mouth or mucous membranes (in addition to the usual warnings about a sin rash).

Me too...I am tapering up to 100mg (for the second time this year) started and then stopped...But now, Im at 50mg and next week will be 75mg. I didnt feel good until I hit 50mg. But, i have had slight fever and soar throat too. But it subsides. As long as you dont get the RASH, your doing pretty good...

Sounds to me like you might be catching a cold. Regardless, whatever symptoms you experience with increasing your lamictal will disappear within a few days. Usually the typical symptoms with a dosage increase is some dizziness and tummy irritability.

The rash may or may not be accompanied by these and other symptoms but the symptons can be part of the deadly process. Look it up.
I would say STOP taking it until you get this cleared up. The danger to your health is too great to continue with these side effects!!!

Today I experienced no sore throat, headache or earache. Perhaps my body was adjusting to the Lamictal increase (touch wood). I will continue to monitor it as SJS scares the you know what out of me. (I got shingles brought on by stress about 4 years ago when I was 38--wow! was that ever painful). Thanks for your posts:)

If it's any consolation the SJS side effect is actually very uncommon. They hype it up because it is very dangerous, but the actual incidence of it is extremely low.
