while browsing the web, i found a mental health site that says Neurontin has helped people with social phobia. Has anyone else heard of this? If so, can it be added to something like prozac and lamictal?
thanks

To the best of my knowledge, the answer to your questions is "yes". Adding Neurontin to an SSRI makes a great deal of sense. Good luck.

Hi,
I take Neurontin 1200 mg. It is combined with Abilify, Seroquel, and Wellbutrin. In the past, it has also been combined with Risperdal and Paxil which I think (correct me someone if I'm wrong) is a SSRI.Neurontin is an anti-epilepsy drug which to the best of my knowledge is used off-label by pdocs as a mood stabilizer for bipolar disorder. What are you diagnosed with?

> sHi S,
Although I take Neurontin, I'm not sure how much it does for me. My boyfriend takes Lamictal and it has been helpful to him however there seem to be some cognitive side effects above certain doses.here is a pro-Neurontin website-http://www.psycom.net/depression.central.gabapentin.html
And here is one where they are suing

I think neurontin is a hit or miss drug.
For me it is a hit. Dosing can be a little difficult - you have to play with it a lot- but nothing quite beats waking up wwithout a panic attack orgoing through the day on an even keel.Sometimes there is a little cognitive impairment for me, but again, it is a trade-off I am willing to make.
I took lamictal for over a year. It may have helped...I don't know...but when severe anxiety is about to hit, I go for neurontin.
The two can be taken together at the same time, btw.
