Hi, I've been on several meds already.
This week I started Zoloft. I'm taking only half a 50 mg pill in the mornings. I'm feeling ok, but during the evenings I get this crazy attacks of anxiety, disability to concentrate (I study) and racing thoughts.
Furthermore, on Friday afternoon I had two beers, ONLY TWO BEERS. Check this out: sheer madness took me over. I was with some friends and suddenly I was home, in bed, with a wide, mad smile from ear to ear, talking alone, singing like crazyand moving in bed. I don't know how I got home, I just remember I was driving in zigzag. Just crazy. I then fell asleep fully dressed and with the lights on, woke up at some point of the night feeling terrible, and finally fell asleep again and woke up this morning feeling with the worst of the hangovers and with general weakness. There's more: Tonight at 8 PM aprox. I ate a little cup of gelatine with rum (something we make here in my country), felt crazy again, fely hungry like a lion, ate half of the refrigerator and now (11:40 PM) I still feel physically destroyed. I am also taking 300 mg. Trileptal in the mornings and evenings, but I've been taking that since long ago without any problem.
Have anyone had a similar experience with Zoloft?
There is only an SSRI I haven't tried: Luvox. That's strange, considering I am precisely an obsessive - compulsive of the most severe kind. I've read a lot about Luvox and I'm interested. Does anyone have Luvox experiences? Does it has a bad alchohol interaction? Does it have significant sexual side effects? Can it be taken in the mornings?
Cheers

I take 250 mgs Luvox daily. I take 50 mgs in the morning and 200 hundred at night. So, yes it can be taken in the mornings. It is said that if your prescribed dose is above 100 mgs, then the smallest dose is to be taken in morning and the largest dose at night. As for alcohol, I never experience anything differently. It might make the alcohol more effective, but thats about it. The only time I had sexual side effects with Luvox is when my P-doc pushed me up to 300 mgs daily, but I went down to 250 mgs and I was fine. Usually, sometimes if you wait it out, the side effect is temporary.

hello there, chemist here...as krybrahaha states, i, too, have not had an experience you describe with luvox, and i am doing 100 mg bid currently. with the exception of the doses being different, my response to you would be the same as krybrahaha's. luvox and parnate are my two personal favorites, if it's worth anything to you, and i have been on and off both drugs with little to no discomfort and excellent results at various times over the years. all the best, chemist
