That's how mine started - I was certain I was dying or crazy or both. It sounds like you can't take many of the meds recommended for anxiety and panic - does your GP know that you're still suffering? What does he think the next course of treatment would be? Have you ever had a second opinion? For me the best treatment has been meds and talk therapy. It's getting better every day. At the least, learning meditation helps to reign in your panic somewhat. There are oodles of CDs that you can get for that.

----If it's a new formulation and this is a new finding you are experiencing, they really could be connected. Continue to try to get up with your doc.

This is a good medication. It is a tryciclic, and may really help with your depression.

The weight gain is a possability, but from what I've heard, the weight gain from Remeron exceeds that of any tryciclic.

Why I want you to take this medication, is that I believe that the antidepressant activity of the tryciclics is vastly superior to that of remeron.

In one study, 75% of people responded to imipramine (a tryciclic) and only 23% responded to remeron. This was a fairly large and creditable study.

Believe me, weight gain is not your biggest issue right now, and if you get better from your depression (truly better) managing you weight should be easier.

have you tried a different dosage of remeron? perhaps down to 15 or up to 45 or even 60mg? Seems you've been having some trouble with the ol' Remeron here lately. Personally, I think Remeron makes me feel worse and I'm thinking of trying something new. This is my third year(or close to it), and it never has done much for depression or anxiety...45mg has had the least negative effects, and I've tried every other dose a couple of times...Good luck..Peace
