Well psych dr and I decided to get off the lexapro and go back to the paxil which worked. He wants me to do 3 day step downs of the lexapro until I hit 2 days with nothing(!!!) then go on to paxil 20. I've already gone through enough hell... any way to make this not seem so scary? He's keeping me on 40 mg of remeron mainly for sleep. I dont want to end up in the hospital I'm so scared.

I think that your doctor's advise seems reasonable.

I'm just concerned about the withdrawal again. I went through a heck of a time with the paxil withdrawal, but with the paxil I was in remission, which now, after trying the lexapro at the highest dose that the dr would allow me to take did not. I feel like I have to go through the fire again.

Maybe you should gradually go on Paxil starting at a low dose right now as you gradually go off of Lexapro. That might help with the wothdrawal effects.
