Hi, I stopped taking 150mgs of effexor 3 weeeks ago, cold turkey. I have never felt so bad in my life. I am screaming at my family and anyone else that gets in the way. I cry all the time and my mood swings are constant.I am having awful
nightmares and wish this was over. Anyone have any ideas how long this is going to go on? I am afraid to leave my house. I have not seen a DR. yet, but I am considering it today. Any insight would be very appreciated. Thanks

I think you're lucky you're not getting extremely nauseous and dizzy with lots of brain zaps. You have to go off of this drug VERY SLOWLY and it helps to take a small amount of Prozac or another long acting serotonergic med while you're reducing. Read the other posts here on this subject and also Dr. Bob has a blurb on this that you should read. Why torture yourself and your family needlessly?
