u took 2 downers, klon and alcohol right? you will be down they are cns depressants, it will take a while to get over it, you will feel a little better every day, if i were you i would call my pdpc /doc and ask about changing the prozac? for something a little more stimulating such as effexor reboxatine ?

>Lexman...I am deeply sorry you are feeling so bad. The pain...man...nobody seems to understand. The good news is, there may be additional drugs you and your doc can add to help. Does Prozac help??...and if so, how much? (Does it help best for anxiety...or for depression...even though yes I know you are in a deep depression.)
If the *depression* seems to have little if no anxiety, it's possible adding a tricyclic antidepressant like nortriptyline or desipramine may really help you. There is also the option of adding a small dose of a stimulant, such as Ritalin or Adderall. I have also seen some (but not *a lot!*) of success with adding Welbutrin.
I am also on Prozac, 80mg, in a very large cocktail of meds that help a fair good amount of the time. The Prozac alone, though, did next to nothing. I think the "cocktail" approach is as good as what many achieve using the MAOI antidepressants. If your doctor won't work on this with you, then maybe it is time to get another one. You have every right to the *best* mental health care, just like any of us.
Please post how you are doing...and any questions you have. If you wish to email me, please let me know.
Best wishes,
Jay

Ask your doctor about Wellbutrin, thats a stimulating anti-depressant, but the only bad thing about it is, it doesnt get along with alcohol. I dont really like SSRI's, but thats my opionion. If that therapy doenst work, dextoamphetamine maybe will come to the rescue. , comebined with an SSRI.
But for the short term, for now if your still feeling bad, go to GNC and get L-Tyrosine. Precursor to dopamine, which i think is the depletion of in your case. It a bit better than caffine on the moods, less jitteryness.
Be sure to tell your doctor how your feeling, and be detailed, and he may begin to use stronger medications, which i think would be better for you.
Best hope to you, get better.
Matt

Lexman, i'm sorry you are so low. You did say that you started to feel a bit better. I think you should continue with the Prozac until you get up to 60 mg and see what happens. Too often people give up on a med when all they need is to be a therapeutic dosage.
Take care.
