You may have seen my posts recently about my transition off of various medications onto Parnate. Well, I got off the other stuff, and have just begun Parnate. I'm at day 2. I am having a horrible time trying to fall asleep, and I can't feel my sex parts. They've gone numb.
So far, no antidepressant effect. If this drug lifts my depression, but continues giving me these side effects, I may stay on it for one year in order to get my life in order, and then stop the drug.
I probably wouldn't even need any of this crap if I just had some close relationships.
Often I feel that my life is like prison. It's solitary confinement most of the time, punctuated by prison rape on a regular basis.

Hi. I take Parnate. I never take my second dosage past 3 PM or else I will not fall asleep. Just give it some time to work ... you may be surprised.

>Hi PhoenixGirl,
You are on the good stuff now, stick with it. I would recommend Remeron or Doxepin as the ideal sleep aids to take with Parnate. Doxepin will lower your BP, while Remeron won't are the biggest differences between the two.
Cheers,
Panda.

You're only at day 2. Give it much more time! At least 2-3 weeks. Hang in there. No AD is going to give us the instant gratification we always want. And, the side effects usually disappear within a couple of weeks. Parnate has always pulled me out of debilitaitng depressive episodes. I wish the same for you. Just give it a fair trial.
