ABILIFYers?

Posted by Hattree on June 1, 2004, at 13:55:28

I know I could find some of this chasing old threads, but I don't have the patience...

If you've used Abilify with success--
how long to kick in?
how bad the side effects, transient or otherwise?
what is it helping with?

I've had great success with Abilify in treating my bipolar illness. I forget how long it took to kick in but it was days -not weeks.
At dose 20 my affect was a little flat and I was restless. At 15 I seem to have no trouble.

It took about 12 weeks to kick in fully , although I felt some improvement in my mood with the first dose, within 1/2 hour.

Not bad-some restlessness that was transient and lasted about 10 minutes, some dry mouth. Although the dry mouth could be one of my other meds.

I take it for bipolar disorder-30mg in the am.
Good luck
