update and good news for a change

Posted by sdjeff on May 2, 2004, at 1:05:18

Well, semi good news.

Thanks everyone who responded to my many previous threads.

Since quitting the nortriptyline and later the Geodon, My moods have mellowed out a little. Zyprexa hasn't totally caused my problems to remiss, but it makes life a little more bearable. I split a 10 mg Zyprexa; one half in the morning and one half at night. I have some sedation issues which I've been able to manage with coffee. I'm definitely more hungry, especially for sweets. Keeping track of my eating habits. Also getting the dumb effect but oh well. I'm not crawling out of my skin so far.

Hi Jeff,

It's good to hear good news.

It would seem that drugs that boost norepinephrine and serotonin through reuptake (Geodon and nortriptyline) are things to avoid in the future.

i manage my sedation (from nortriptyline, Klonopin, Buspar) with coffee too. Oh yes, my ADD and genreal lack of energy, and even depression are helped by massive amounts of coffee.

nd I'm in the market for another antidepressant.

Hi Jeff,

Which one do you think it was? Are you going to try & add one or the other again?

There is a thread near the top about Abilify that looks half interesting for a guy in your predicment.

Cheers,
Panda.

Hi sdjeff:
I'm SO glad to read your 'up-beat' post just now when I opened this site, 'psycho.-Bubble' after a car trip.
In my guess, .... your often 'optimistic' along with 'some flexibility' personality have something to do with the situation/often difficult) in which you've been on.
Anyway, cutting each 10 mg. Zyprexa is a good idea to 'save' money along with 'truly' dedication to the Zyprexa regimen, as knowing that without some patience and devotion on the med. regimen, you do NOT like to do this 'tedious' job, 'cutting' it in a half that I did before 'non-stabilized' days. Then, I totally understand how you feel when putting a sharp 'cutter' on each Zyprexa in orderly manner.
H.G.

This is the end of the thread.
