Hello Everyone,
I started Abilify 5 mg as an augmentation to Zoloft and Ritalin for depression. There was some improvement but a lot of weight gain so I tried to stop the Abilify. Within a month, I became suicidal. I started on the Abilify again and improved almost immediately. I am now gaining weight again and would like to stop the Abilify but I am afraid. When I asked my doctor if I could be dependent, she remarked that I was using "inflammatory" words. I don't think she ever answered the question. Has anyone else with depression had trouble stopping Abilify or any other new generation anti-psychotic? Thanks for any feedback.

Yes I did. I would stop the abilify and start zyprexa. I would feel bad like you said even after the abilify had stoped, but it would go away in about a month.
This is the end of the thread.
