Linkadge, it seems years ago that I may have tried this combo or one like it. Not sure of wheather it was with a TCA or SSRI. In any case I did'nt have luck with it, and I am wary of a combo of 2 meds that are prettey notorious for causing or exacerbating anything to do with GI distress! ie: nausea and diarrhea. But who knows, eveyone tolerates stuff so much differently
Good Luck If thats the route you take!

I was on this combination for something between 1 1/2 years and 3 years (6 - 8 years ago). I may also have added Buspar for some of that time. This was one of my longer lasting combinations. I think that I eventually dropped the Zoloft, and Celexa/Lithium was the next successful combination.

I have Severe Major Depression (not Bi-Polar - but my dad was hospitalized for mania once, and my sister has recently been diagnosed Bi-Polar - so the Lithium was added because of family history).

hey linkadge,
i've had a lot of success with the zoloft-lithium combination. it may be true about the GI distress, but i haven't had any problems. i would recommend, though, one of the controlled-release forms of lithium, like eskalith or lithobid. i used to throw up all the time from regular lithium, but once i switched to eskalith, i hardly notice that i'm on lithium. good luck!

yep, i'm currently on zoloft and lithium. i don't have any problems with feeling disinhibited. as far as balance, the only time i've had problems in this area is when my lithium level got too high... then i was really ataxic and couldn't walk straight to save my life! i really hope this works for you!
