Hey guys! Fianlly saw the new Pdoc last week. She put me on effexor, which was going to be my reccomendation anyway. 37.5 to start, and then to 75mg after a week along with 45mg of Remeron. This is the usual start-up I guess? My main question is about the amount of time before you noticed any difference in ur symptoms? I can feel the norepinephrine for sure! Phew..It's nice to feel alive again. I've been getting these rushes all day, especially when I smoke...guess it's the DA or NE effect. It reminds me of adderall. This aspect works fairly well for social anxiety, and I hope it gets even better. The fear of social interaction has gone down a lot just in a few days. So, what can I expect over the next couple of weeks?

>Hi,
I had an instant effect from Effexor. I am currently on 300mg + 30mg of Remeron. I'm pretty happy with this combination as Remeron seems to take care of Effexors side effects.
Cheers,
Panda.

Hi, it took quite a while before I noticed anything with Effexor ... nothing significantly better until I reached 225mg. Up to 300 now + 20 Celexa ... seems to be doing a good job as an augmenting agent.
The side effects were quite tolerable too ... they only bothered me for like 2 weeks or so.

I'm at the point of tryiny to stop. The effexor worked well for me, but is difficult to stop. My dosage was 37.5, 75mg, 150mg and then back down and nearly a year out since I began. The problems I experienced took a couple of months to fully resolve. Good luck.

I had pretty severe side effects from 75mg - excessive sweating, nausea, jumpiness. They subsided after 9 weeks or so. Then went to 150mg and my blood pressure shot up dangerously, so now I'm down again to 75mg and am ramping up on Wellbutrin. I am tolerating the WB much better and felt no ill effects from decreasing the effexor so far.

I've been on effexor xr for two months. I started with the week of 37.5 and went to 75mg. I had nausea, dizziness, sleepiness the first week and then adjusted well after that. The only side effects I notice are increased appetite, low sex drive and constipation. I went to the doc for panic attacks and depression and it has made a world of difference. I stopped having the bad attacks immediately, and now hardly feel any anxiety at all.
