a long time now off of buspar

Posted by cappygrl on March 25, 2004, at 10:50:21

Hello. I've been on a lot of meds, the most recent being Buspar. I stopped taking Buspar back in december, but it's March now, and I still seem to be feeling not quite right. I've had on and off dizziness, I feel kind of spaced out, and very anxious and panicky. I was wondering if anyone had experience with after-effects of a med even being off for almost 4 months. I'm scared that my brain will not return to normal

I was taking 10 mg of zyprexa for 5 years. When I decrease its dose even 3 months later I don't feel the same. The only thing that works is to take more of the zyprexa.

Why did you stop taking the buspar?

Did it have side effects?

I am taking a miniscule dose of Buspar right now. The only side effects I have had are dizziness and lightheadedness. Often times, when people go off of meds that they have been on awhile, they experience delayed withdrawal symptoms that can be very unpelasant. I'm nto a doctor, but I'd think that she may want to stick this out (and it's incredibly miserable- trust me I know) to see if these symptoms subside or lessen in the next couple of months. her dosage, whether she quit cold turkey, and also how long she was on it may tell a bit as to whether or not this is withdrawal. Also, I wonder if shes taken a benzo like xanax or valium, that could play a role too.
