I am really looking for some feedback here. I am currently experiencing something that is totally new to me in over twenty years of (and on) treatment for depression.
I posted part of this when it first happened. I came off Celexa about two months ago. Then a week or ten days ago I had a really definite case of what I called "the jitters" when I tried to go to sleep. I have been taking Seroquel 100 mgm at bedtime for a couple of years, and used to take the Celexa with it. Because the jittery feeling almost seemed to be an akesthesia (movement) kind of thing I cut my Seroquel in half the next night and everything was fine. Then about three nights ago I experienced the same thing. Both times I drank warm milk and eventually fell asleep.
I saw my doc yesterday and described it to him. He suggested that I try going back up to the 100mgm of Seroquel and see what happened. I did that last night and it was horrible! Not only that but I am STILL experiencing this horrific anxiety this morning. I cannot concentrate, it is taking everything I have just to type this. I am not suicidal, but it really has me "down"! I took my regular meds this AM -- Wellbutrin 200SR and Strattera 40 mgm. I have been on the Wellbutrin at that dose for two or three years and on the Strattera for about six months. The other piece of this is (two things actually) aprox. three days after decreasing the Seroquel the first time I felt BETTER than I had for years,it was incredible! My ravenous appetite was down too. That's another thing,Today I feel as though I have no control over my appetite! I finally had two oranges (after regular breakfast) and that helped a little. I will take the same two meds mid-afternoon.
Any ideas here folks? I feel worse than I have in a LONG time. Pleeeeesee let me know your thoughts. Green Hornet

Celexa is an anti-anxiety drug as well as an antidepressant. Wellbutrin is an antidepressant, but often causes jitteriness.
I think that the Wellbutrin might be the culprit for your jitteriness. You used to have Celexa to offset the Wellbutrin's jitteriness but now you don't.
Are you currently depressed? If so, maybe you should resume Celexa. If not, maybe you should discontinue Wellbutrin. Ask your doc about these options.

hey this is just a shot in the dark, but do you have any low blood sugar problems or tendancies. I know for a fact food and meds,, stimulating or not, activating , calming, or sedating these chemicals can do all kinds of funky things baybe it is nothing to be bothered with but just a possible link.. because a lot of the atypical AP's can have appetite increase as a SE, thus possibility of attenuating any underlying blood sugar abnomalities... just a thought . Like I said MBW checking into

Seroquel can cause tremor, and dyskinesia (weird movements you can't control). It might be worth asking your doc if these side effects are from the seroquel, you said they decreased when you decreased your dose. Go to www.seroquel.com under the professional section, and click on product info. to get all the info you want. Hope that helps.

Thanks everyone. The problem SEEMS to have cleared up. My doc said to stick with the half a Seroquel and added Lexapro 10mgm in the morning (back on the ole' SSRI) I have been fine the past couple of nights and today. Thanks again for all of your input. GH

I know EXACTLY how you feel. Technically it is called akesthesia. Try Benadryl or quinine (yes, good old tonic water). Quinine is also available by rx only, so see your MD.

What you are describing sounds like it is coming from the Celexa (Serotonin Withdrawal Syndrome) and it can last up to 6 months on average.

Where can I find the information regarding this 6 month average?

Search the Internet for SSRI withdrawal and serotonin withdrawal syndrome.
Take long walks. What you are describing is akethesia (a need to keep moving). I have mania, I take long walks. It calms my mania and akesthesia.

I think its the wellbutrin you are taking. Wellbutrin by itself can produce a lot of anxiety and restlessnes. The Seroquel takes away from that which is probably why the doctor told you to take that. My guess is if you stop the wellbutrin and the seroquel you will be fine.

Yes, the Wellbutrin can cause anxiety. My doctor perscribed it once to offset the sexual side effects of Paxil, and all it did was make me extremely hyper.
