Hi. Just started Prozac a week ago..... About two days ago I started getting heartburn from hell. I've been pregnant twice and never had heartburn this bad. It actually woke me up last night it was soo bad.It even hurt to drink water. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and how long did it last? What can I take for the heartburn?

When I took Prozac I would get it about 1 hour after I took it but it wouldn't linger to long.

Hi:
I experience 'heart burn,' so to speak 'acid reflux,' from Wellbutrin SR I've been on. I can not take any of SSRIs, 'Prozac' is one of SSRIs, due to my condition, Bp II.
In my case, the more WB has in my system, the severe heart-burn/acid reflux I get. Then, I tried to reduce to 250 mg., from 300 mg. However, on this lower dosage, I feel 'depressive feelings,' especially after getting out of the bed. Then, I take 300 mg. WB. Then, your problem as to 'heart burn' might have some similarities, ... if not exact same symptoms.
For me, 'Malaax/Max' with 'cherry flavour' works GOOD, although this remedy just lasts 24-48 hours. Once I was on Prevacid, however this gives me 'dizziness' and 'nauseous feelings.'In my suggestion, try to take some anti-acid remedy you can find over-the-counter. However, if you're med.-sensitive type, you may need to ask your pdoc. before taking any med. even simple med. for 'cold.' Because there is/are med. interaction to watch out, especially while you're on psycho.-med.
