Remeron and thyroid medicine

Posted by florence on March 10, 2004, at 11:13:06

I would appreciate info about the interaction of these 2 drugs. I have been taking remeron just for depression;mainly it helps me sleep. After extensive research I asked my dr. to let me try Armour thyroid. I have been absolutely extremely fatigued since going off of Lupron shots 6 months ago. I read something about armour increasing the density of arenergic receptors and suspect the remeron is maybe inhibiting a better response to the thyroid med. I am taking 30mgs of Armour and have noticed no improvement. OK it's only been 2 days but I really thought that I would feel a SLIGHT improvement with the T3 in Armour. I am trying to wean off the remeron-even tho dr. says I can just stop taking it. I never felt much difference in depressive symptoms at 15,30,45,6o, and even 90 mg of remeron. But the provigil I take 100 mgs always got me out of bed. I do not think it is working anymore. If I take too much like over 200mgs of provigil, I get anxiety when it starts to wear off. Anyone taking remeron with Armour? Any thoughts at all? I am not in pain;just bedridden with fatigue and I know the Lupron messed up my pituitary or thyroid but that's beside the point right now. I never had fatigue on the Lupron and only needed 50 mg provigil to get up and going.
