Hi everyone..
I have really bad GAD and panic attacks. I was on paxil CR 25 for about a little over a year and it worked very well however the past month or so it stopped working. My doc put me on Lexapro 10 mg and I am currently on my 6th day. He had me one day just stop the paxil and replace it with the Lexapro. SO far I can tell that I havent been panicking as much.. however I have this horrible side affect of shaking. I cant stop shaking no matter what. It really sucks. Has anyone else experienced this? Can I expect it to go away with time? It feels like the inside of my body is shaking as well, however at most of the times you can see my hands shaking.
On a lighter note I just want to say thank you to everyone on this board who has posted there personal stories because it really does give one peace of mind which the doctors cant give.
Please anyone with info on the whole shaking thing please write!!!!!SCREWYOUANXIETY

You know I was on Celexa highest dose at the time and the highest dose of buspar, that was over 3 yrs ago and had the shaking hands-I seen it and felt it and was MORE selfconcience of it! so I can relate to the shaking-I am now on lexapro about a month or more accually, lowest dose and depression is gone but the anxiety is still NOT under control-cant see pdoc til april! yes APRIL!
and they will not switch drugs til you SEE the doctor! ack!!! I am also on 50mg plus of visteral
AINT WORKIN' and that has been about 3 weeks on that.

Hello,
I'm on 15 mgs of Lexapro and have noticed slight hand tremmors. They don't occur very often though. You should feel better in about a week or so...that's when you're body will have adjusted to the Lexapro. I'm also guessing that in another week any withdrawl you've had from Paxil will have subsided at that point. Good luck!

PROZAC to LEXPRO? My old friend prozac isn't working too well after 10 years. Thought it was temporary but it's been more than 5 weeks and I'm not feeling better, so I'm heading to the doc tomorrow. In doing a little research on newer SSRIs, I think Lexpro is what I should try? Any suggestions?

Hi Mady,
I took Prozac in the past and am now on Lexapro. It's been a very effective medication and I'm quite happy with it.
Another alternative would be to increase your Prozac dose. When mine stopped working I went from 20 mgs to 40 mgs, and that helped for about a year...until I felt great and went off of it. When I tried taking Prozac again it was ineffective.
I highly recommend Lexapro, it's done wonders for my anxiety/depression.

Sorry to be such a prude, but could you please re-register under a different name? I'm afraid this one uses language that could offend others:
