neurontin and anger

Posted by thinkfast on February 25, 2004, at 23:54:26

I was just wondering if anyone has experienced increased anger on neurontin...I quit Remeron about a month ago, and had anger while I was on that, but it seems to have gotten worse on the Neurontin. Would this most likely be from quiting the Remeron, or does this ever happen to anyone taking Neurontin? Also, Inderal did the same thing with the anger issue. I drove around town cussing at people and flipping them off on that stuff...lol.. I believe these types of medication are similar, so I'm trying to figure out why it does this--and what does it mean?....Thanx!!!

After about 6-7 hours of the neurontin I usually find myself in a very bad mood...often enraged...

Maybe it is the short half-life........

does this only happen when it wears off, or while you are still under the effects?

Seems only as it is wearing off. Do you feel rage while you are in the middle of it working?

yeah......it could possibly be underlying anger that I usually keep bottled up and the neurontin brings it out??????

One thing I notice about N. is that it lowers inhibitions.....so maybe you have a point there. There have been times while the drug is active in my system that I have done things I would never have done while "sober".

do you have SAD by chance?.....Neurontin doesn't seem to do much for me in that department, as far as inhibitions are concerned....although, my social issues go far to deep for any medication to treat..well, maybe some opiates could do the trick..lol...

I don't have SAD unless I am depressed and feeling lousy about myself LOL.....I am normally pretty social.
Why are you bothering with these drugs again? Mood disorder? Depression? BP? I thought you mentioned remeron. I hated that drug too. Been on serzone? Lousy drug for me, but some ppl swear by it. Perhaps a bit of klonopin or ativan might help too....
