does anyone know how topamax causes weight loss? I know that after I ate I feel an increase of energy and a warm feeling like my metabolism has increased so I'm wondering if it's due to metabolism and appetite reduction, because I am eating less too..I just don't feel as hungry I have more control of how much I eat and when I feel full, and this is on 100mg, but has anyone else felt an energy boost after eating?

I just started on it a week ago (am at 25 mg to increase by 25 each week). But people on another board (go to google and type in topamax--note the spelling with an A) say that they don't binge as much and that healthy foods just taste better, sweets don't taste good, sodas tastes flat, and milk and dairy products tastes funny.
i have none of those feeling so far. I am eating less. Oh, and some say they just forget to eat. I did that yesterday, even on 25mg.

Soda does taste funny to me and I do feel fuller faster and longer.
I noticed that right away on 25mg.
Currently I am on 75mg but most people say that at 100mg they noticed it a lot.
