For the first few days I was on Klonopin, it worked pretty well - not perfectly, but still some improvement.
Now, I feel down - no motivation, no confidence.
Is this a normal process or Klonopin pooping out?
I've been taking 0.5mg in the morning and another 0.5mg in the evening.
I've also been taking Vitamin B,C, Fish oil, and an antibiotics called Tetracycline, which is for some other problem.
I need some help here.

I know that some benzos. can make you feel down. I believe I had the same reaction with Ativan.

Klonopin is a tranquilizer. It can, at first, cause you to feel blah. Perhaps some Wellbutrin would help you get up and moving. Wellbutrin is an anti depressant that can work great with Klonopin.

Klonopin can be sedating/depressing for the first few weeks. This almost always goes away by the 4th week. Stay with it.

Yes, I will stay with it.
Study shows that Klonopin can cause depression in CNS, but when taken for a long time (long time here means a few years). So, I guess it's just some side effects that would go away.Thank you all for reply.

> I need some help here.I would stick with it. I'm a new K user but I already take Serzone for depression so I've been feeling great. I believe that a lot of times K is prescribed along with an antidepressant. Go talk to your pdoc if possible. Best of luck and remember we are here for you.

There can be a real adjustment period to Klonopin use and that fact gets lost and is not discussed a great deal. The initial "honeymoon" period can be due to the fast relief effect it has on anxiety symptoms.... then there is a settling in. One must also take into account that moods are on a continium just normally. We aren't going to be the same ALL the time. This is with everyone, but I think those of us with mood disorders don't give that the credit it's due.
Klonopin can indeed make depression worse. I have found fish oil is effective for helping with that aspect of things, so you may find adding that back could be helpful.
If depression is your primary problem, careful attention to the worsening of depressive symptoms needs to be monitored.
Long term use of Klonopin does not always result in a comorbid depression, but certainly has be watched for and the pros and cons weighed on an individual basis.
Working with your doctor is essential.

Yes, I'll get a referral to see a new psychitrist. What worries me is impaired cognitive skills while taking benzos. I wish 1.0mg is low enough not to cause such side effect but who knows?
I'm a college student and have to study. My grades have reached the bottom and I need to make them go up. Anxiety and Obsessive thoughts completely ruined my college life.
This is the end of the thread.
