It _should_ get better, but might take several weeks. If I understand you correctly, you "downgraded" from hypomania to just anxiety and intrusive thoughts? If so, that's a sign that it'll probably be better soon, but you should consult with your doctor on this ASAP.

I was just about to post about Abilify. I took my first dose last night-I think ten mgs. It will definitely be my last dose. I had been doing really well for about two weeks, and just this morning I woke in a terror! I have been crying in public and thinking about suicide. I am extremely sensitive to activating drugs. Serequel works really well for me, but it makes me really hungry. When I asked if there was "diet serequel" my doctor gave me Abilify. It feels more like toxic serequel to me. I just hope I come out on the other side of this.

Don't worry you wil.. maybe you need to start really low.. I took crumbs for a few days. then I worked to 5 and I'll stay here until I feel comfortable.. i'm not even sure what a theraputic dose is for bipolar II.

Thanks , yes not as hyper and compulsive today. I'm not giving up ..klonopin is here if it gets bad.
I for one sometimes have a chemical roller coaster ride before I settle. and I have gone through it and came out great before.. so no throwing in the towel. Thanks

My experience with it is that it dosn't get better. You can stop taking it, you will start to feel better, but realy no improvement for 2-3 weeks. I've tried that stuff on and off so many times and always have that exact same problem as you. I take zyprexa instead.

You should try geodon. It is not activating, puts you to sleep. And NO weight gain, so they say. I've never tried it.

I have been on Abilify for about seven months. I started on 2.5 mg every other day and now take 3.75 mg every day.
The experience gets better the longer you take it. The anxiety eventually lessens and is replaced by profound calmness. There is definately a "stoned" feeling when taking it.
I suspect that 5 mg is too high a dose for you. Or, Abilify may not be the right drug for you. If it doesn't make you feel BETTER then it is probably not the right drug.
Good-luck.

HI,
I'm gonna lower the dose a little and se what happens.
I had to go to ER tonight for a back injury.
and I noticed I was so calm. BP was up and pulse too but mentally I was calm.
I have a hard time finding words or may lose my trane of thought, but it's ok..lol
It's only been a week. Thanks
