I started on my 100 mg last night (as directed by my psych-)
Last night I thought I got the flu.
High fever, chills, and SEVERE body aches.
I was on the verge of vomiting all night and in alot of back pain as well.
Also, my left tonsils are swollen and very sore (having problems swallowing).
I read up that Seroquel can cause all these symptoms .. but..
I wont even be ablt to speak to my doctor for anoter week and a half.So do I keeping taking the 100mg? Or go back down to 50mg???
I dont know what to do....

i'm also bipolar and was given seroquel by my pdoc. i am currently on a very small dose, 25mg twice a day. originally, i was directed to take 100mg all at one time. my body didn't react well to that, so i divided the doses throughout the day. if you have to work or drive and excessive sleepiness is a problem at first, perhaps even space doses throughout the hours when you are home. when i went back to see my pdoc, he said that was fine to do. i still cannot take 100mg of seroquel at a time. it is too overwhelming and makes me kind of ill. it has been a great med for my BPII. i hope it will work for you in smaller doses. good luck.

I also think your doc started you out too high. I saw a new doctor yesterday for my bipolar. He started me on 25mg at bedtime, and gave me instructions with a lot of flexibility on how to titrate up. I slept great (which I never do) and feel great this morning.

I am Bipolar and started Seroquel 25mg at bedtime. It initially caused me to feel very groggy the next day, but I had the best night sleep. We then increased it to 50mg at bedtime. Again I felt groggy but that eventually went away. I then went to 75 mg and my body had adjusted to it. It does great at contolling my hypomanic episodes. And I sleep every night which also helps me to stay on a regular schedule.
I understand that Seroquel will not work for everyone. It has worked for me though. Good luck in finding the right med.
