> For those interested... my experience with Lexapro has been very dissapointing. I've had a history of depression and only recently have begun med.'s as a possible help for any imbalance in my brain. I began taking wellbutrin, which I loved, but severe itching and loud ringing in my ears led me to have to stop.
> Then I began taking Lexapro 3 and 1/2 weeks now and can honestly say that it has made me feel worse than ever. I am tired all the time, I have terrible nightmares now waking me all night, I have dry mouth, and what's worse I don't even want my husband to touch me at all...and as well, I feel more anxious and irritable than ever! So, for those of you wondering...or suffering the same fate on this med... get off it! I know I stopped taking it as of today...and look forward to anything other than this feeling I've been having since on it.

Hi Spaceghost,
I'm sorry to hear you had trouble on lexapro. It's been very helpful for me, but I do admit that the initial side effects were terrible and didn't go away until week 3 or 4. I hope you can find another med that helps you, nobody should have to live with depression.
K.

If you loved Wellbutrin, you'd probably do better with Strattera, a dopamine agonist (Mirapex or Requip), or the TCA desipramine (if you can tolerate it).
