Maximum Geodon dosage

Posted by agencypanic on January 25, 2004, at 15:41:48

I have schizoaffective disorder and one of the drugs that I"m taking is Geodon.
I take 340mg/day and am wondering what the upper limit on this drug is. Anyone out there
taking a similar amount?

you're way past the max dose of 200mg/d.. how on earth are you still alive and functioning? 40mg of Geodon f*cked me up in a bad way to the point where I was slurring my speech..

agencypanic,

I was trying to find out the max dose for the oral capsules today and could not access the prescribing info. I'm on 40 mg for mania, but I definitely need more. I haven't noticed any cognitive problems at this dose, but - then again - I am something of a medication horse...I always need a high dose to bring me to baseline.

How are you feeling on that high dose? You might want to double check with your pdoc and see if that's appropriate. It's a new drug and s/he may have missed something on the prescribing info.

It's definitely worth investigating as soon as you can, since that much antipsychotic in your system could cause a lot of problems in the long term.

Take care,

Girl
