Is there any reason why after two years of 150mg per day of Effexor I still feel drowsy. At times, my eyes start to roll back in my head, even after a full nights sleep,maybe I am having a reaction to the Ginseng tablets I have been taking. Does anyone know it taking Herbs like Ginseng, Guarana, or Co-Q10 will cause a reaction to Effexor. The thing that is so scary to me about taking an AD is that I go through the day and I am the only one who knows that I am taking it. Were does this drug come from???I dont know. Were is there someone else on it that I can talk to???? I dont know. Why do the doctors think it is such a good idea that I take it????? I dont know. Maybe I have wasted two years of my life in a drugged up stooper, just because some doctor in a lab coat, mixed up a drug that he thinks everyone should be on. I feel like a walking zombie at sometimes, constintley drowsy, dazed and confused

Maybe it is time for you to pop to the doctors/phsyciatrist and have a good old chat with him/her...

It also sounds as if you may be on a higher dose than you need.
When I first started ramping up on Effexor, I'd get the most outrageous yawns, they almost hurt I was so tired... After 3 months an getting back down to 75mg from 225mg, I have no more tiredness from Effexor.
Ask your PDoc...

That is how I feel at somepoints, yawning feels almost like it hurts, the pain is going around always tired. I thought that antidepressants were supposed to bring you up not down. yeah maybe I should lower my dosage, but originally I was told and have always believed that the side effects are supposed to go away especially since I have been on it for two years.

Ask your PDoc to drop you to 75mg and see if you still have the same issues with it. I had no problem dropping to a lower dose. I did 225 to 150 and then dropped that to 75mg, whic is where it's currently at.
