Currious, you said you took Paxil before and it helped, why did you stop it?

I have been taking Paxil CR 25mg for about 1 1/2 years now. I have also been on regular Paxil in the past. I didn't notice much difference between them; maybe a few less side effects at start up with Paxil CR. I take it for PD and depression. It seems to be very helpful. I had also tried Celexa at one point for a couple of month - wasn't helping though.

What are you taking this med for?

Just re-read your post and saw that you are taking it for panic attacks. Disregard my question.

I have been on 50mg of Paxil CR for over two years now. I have found that the CR is very helpful- when I was on the regular Paxil I could feel when it started to wear off. The CR also seemed to ease me into things- like when I had the prescript upped from 12.5 to 25... the CR took the edge off and it was a nice transition.

I think you will being to feel the effects within 10 days- gradually. One thing that seems to help when you transition into Paxil is to get enough sleep and to try and go to sleep at the same time every night. This way the sleepy effects that some get from it don't affect your daytime hours.

Also, try and be good to your stomach during this time, this also seemed to help the Paxil effects at the beginning.

I hope this helps!

Paxil was great but I had to quit because I didn't just have decreased libido, I couldn't even have sex anymore, and this side effect does not go away with time. I'm male by the way but hear with women it causes dryness with hardly any chance of orgasm. I tried to augment it with everything in the book because I like what it did for my social phobia and GAD but new I couldn't live with not having sex.
