I just wanted to say thanks to everyone, not just for writting back to me. But for all the wonderful information I have learned. I think I have found what my problem has been. I believe I have BP2. For many years I was treated with Anti-dep. and nothing ever really worked. I go to my doctor next week and I plan to try a new course of meds. (if she agree's with my self dx)Does anyone have any adivse for me ? about this illness or meds that work well? Or even advice on how to tell my pdoc I think she mis-dx me...

Hi Ann.
The difficulty with detecting BP2 is that the first few hypomanic episodes are easily overlooked and unrecognized. Check out the following description. Try to look back over your life beginning from about age 10 and see if there were any times that would fit the description of mania. It would help your doctor diagnose you.

Good luck on your doctor's visit.

Thanks Scott,
That was a good link. I am going to bring it to my pdoc and go over it. I do believe I fall into that catagory. And yes, when I do look back, I see times where I cant believe I did certain things etc...Thanks
Ann
