Depression, anxiety, panic attacks. Nardil worked but has been discontinued. Tried Parnate.....no help. Am now on Prozac......ditto.
Last shrink I saw had me forcibly admitted to psych hospital......dragged off like a rabid animal.
I've known my GP for 25 years but.......he's a good man but he doesn't keep up to date and is just coasting til he retires.
Have tried finding another doctor.......hard when I'm so depressed, no luck anyway.
I cry myself to sleep, wake up crying, don't see anyone, can't eat........I can't live like this.

I am working through similar issues... Well, make sure you're getting proper nutrition and vitamins (no caffeine). Your body is probably revving so hard, that you're burning through all your nutrients - so need to replenish. Try the amino acid L-Theanine which helps with anxiety and SAM-e which helps with depression. Also, if you get panic attacks, Ativan under your tongue can stop it right away (ask your doctor about it - but, be careful to not use it too much - it can be addictive). And, really research any anxiety medication you're given beforehand. Maybe an older drug like Ellavil would be better - again, do some research.
Also, once you're stabilized, try to find a good, highly-qualified hypnotherapist. They can do wonders to get the body and mind to slow down - and to make life more comfortable.
Good luck to you. Also know that there are many posts on this site - which means that there are many others working through tough issues. So, you're not alone. And, your life has value - so, make yourself take better care of your body and mind.

Nardil was discontinued here in Australia in June '03.

Did Nardil work for you? If so can you have it sent over from abroad?

Why was it discontinued? Seems like a very strange thing to do.

Just wanted to ask how high a dosage you went with Parnate before discontinuing it. Some people need pretty high dosages (60-70mg/day or more). I got NO result until I went to 40mg/day, and then I experienced a dramatic improvement.

I'm on 50mg/day now. It's not magic, but at least I can get out of bed and take care of my life, even if I still feel lousy a lot of the time.

Only anti-depressant that ever did work for me. I don't know why it was discontinued. My pharmacist told me last year and my shrink subsequently confirmed it.

There seems to be a chance that there is a new Nardil now on the market. There's a topic here somewhere about that.

You should definitely try get back on Nardil. I know how hard it is to find something that actually works. There must be some way to get ahold of it where you are.

Good luck!
