i've been taking mood stabilizers (depakote, now lamictal) for about 6 weeks and noticed that caffeine no longer wakes me up, even that first cup in the morning. has anyone else had this experience?

Yes, depakote is a powerfull sedative. You may need a lot more caffine than before. You could add another drug that wakes you up, stimulant like wellbutrin.

Hi,
I was on lithium before and now i am off. I noticed when I would drink caffeine ON lithium it would work then I would crash big time(got real tired). I didn't drink it much anyways but avoided it because of that too. Now that I am off, i noticed I don't crash anymore and it has more of an effect. So to answer your question, I don't know if it deactivates caffeine but definitely has an effect on it.
