I am underweight and I have been all my life. I HATE being so thin. I would give anything to gain even 30 or 40 pounds.
Is there any drug that will GUARANTEE weight gain in anyone -- including someone like me, for whom gaining any weight is near IMPOSSIBLE?
I mean something that increases appetite, changes metabolism, etc. What WORKS?
I've never been a pound over 138! I've given up hope.
Thanks,
Billy

If I were you, I'd get a personal trainer and tell him (or her) I wanted to bulk up. Weight training with adequate nutrition (maybe some protein/carb loading with the advice of a trainer) would be your safest option.
Trust me, you're lucky not to have to take any of the nasty drugs we discuss on this board.
Best Wishes.
P.S. Oh well, if you're *clinically* underweight and desperate, you could try taking an antipsychotic at night, like Seroquel or Zyprexa. Those really cause dramatic weight gain, but it would all be fat, and I wouldn't recommend it. You probably wouldn't like the other side effects.

If you are depressed and are talking about what antidepressant will help you gain weight then for sure Remeron, and lithium will help you put on the pounds.
In other areas there is creatine, a supplement that helps you gain mass.

----------Never had lithium, but I hearily agree with his Remeron suggestion. I put on 3 pounds a week for the first 5 weeks, without even altering my diet.

There is a drug, though I'm not sure of the name (DRATS!) that increases the appetite. My father took it when he had cancer and had no appetite. Shoot! Blasted memory! Not that I would have any reason to want to know the name of a drug to increase the appetite. But, I did take Zyprexa for a while. You wouldn't want to mess with it though, as it can cause some side effects.
