Here's the letter. A hint for Google....just paste in the exact title into the search bar. It was the first hit....

Lar,
Thanks for the post. From an earlier discussion we had, I have been using some niacinamide(sp?) on your recommendation and added some inositol. It seems to help, but I keep studying.

Mirtazapine appears to be just right for me, except for weight gain. I stopped Paxil two years ago and lost the 25 lbs it put on me. Additionally, I find SSRI's "too much" for my problems (mild anxious depression which comes and goes along with sleepless agitation). So I thought I would try a low dose of mirtazapine and just not eat. However, from everything I read it looks like you gain weight from the mirtazapine per se, not an increased appetite.

Any thoughts on the cause for weight gain with mirtazapine?
Tx,
BobS.

Experts on the board,
Can anyone explain the cause of weight gain and let's say, just for the hell of it, if you never exceeded 1200 calories a day would you gain weight on 15 mg of mirtazapine?
