twitching on lexapro?

Posted by Mrs C. on November 28, 2003, at 16:09:46

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I read the postings
everyday and really find comfort in them. I have
started to get this muscle twiting in my chin that is
almost constant and driving me nuts. Can anyone
please help me with this. Has anyone experienced
it? I am really beginning to doubt taking lex. I am
on my 4th week and don't feel any better, worse actually.
Any response would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, Thanks for replying. I am on 10mg. I actually feel better in some ways. I'm am happier
mentally. Physically I feel strange. Mostly around my jaw. I feel my chin twitching
alot and my teeth feel weird. It's kinda hard to explain. I just feel really
concerned that there is something wrong with my nervous system. But the reason I
was prescribed Lex was because of constant worry and anxiety. So maybe I just need to
give Lex a little longer and hopefully these strange symptoms will go away and
I can stop worrying and get on with life. What kind of s/e did you have? Maybe what you are
feeling is just your normal self especially if you feel awful without Lex. I don't
think we're supposed to feel different, just normal. Right? I have no idea. Talk to ya soon.

Definitely just give it time. When I started Effexor and most recently lithium orotate, both affected my teeth and jaws. I have have also had small muscles twitching occasionally on the lithium over the past two weeks which seem to be going away. My jaw would clench and my teeth would seem a little sore or lose which was weird. Both have gone away. I was also having what felt like carpel tunnel syndrome in my wrists and ankles which has also gone away. I would just stick with it, because I got completely better the first time on Effexor and have felt better overall recently on the lithium although not 100% yet. Good luck

Thank you so much for responding. It helps so much to hear from others who have
had these same feelings. Maybe I will get through this. I hope. Good luck to you
as well!
