I have experienced an intensification of depression since I began taking Gabitril 8mg. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Any comments at all?
Thanks.

It has produced more social anxiety along with the depression. I guess it is a paradoxical reaction, seeing as some doctors are now prescribing it to treat anxiety.

I decided to continue with Gabitril. I don't feel as bad as I did a few days ago. I still think it is making things worse, but it is more tolerable. I'm hoping that this worsening represents a temporary destabilization of the system that is reflective of future positive change.
I can't help but to hope.

Scott,
My pdoc put me on Gabitril because he thought it would help with anxiety and eventually take the place of Neurontin for me. I took it for a little over a month, and it didn't really do anything for me. It's a new med, so I'll be curious to see if it eventually works for you.
