Restarting Nardil...User experiences

Posted by ace on November 17, 2003, at 19:46:24

Here's another special characteristic of Nardil I have noticed that I'll write about...

After someone has had a successful time on Nardil and then went off it and later restarted it, they can notice that it takes much longer to kick in the second time- sometimes double the initial time it kicked in.

One chap mentioned it took 3 months to kick in the second time. But it kicked in again!

Unfortunately many give up around the 6-9 week mark, and say 'it's not working anymore'. But if they had waited it might have been a different story.

Normally I would say "yeah, who's got the patience for this!"- but remember boys and girls it's Nardil we are talking about- ie the patience is worth it!

Tell me your experiences when Restarting Nardil.

Thankyou my lovely friends!

Ace.

I had taken nardil in the past , about 4-5 years ago , and my doc was not experienced with the med. I only went up to a 45 mg dose but still got a pretty good noticable response. But it didnt last and we went to the ssri's. I have never had as good of and effect on any of those and finally went back to nardil. I have taken nardil for two months now and im up to 75 mg a day . Im not getting the response that i remember. It was good to here that it may take longer cause i was about ready to give up and try something else. I will try and give it 3 mo. if I can hold out that long
Thanks for the info

No worries...I remembered one time, it took 10 weeks to abolish his depression and 13 weeks to abolish OCD- and this was the first ever time he took it...so in other words, if he discontinued it it could take 20 weeks to kick in again. Because it can take up to double the initial kick in time.

Also, RT, have you considered to stepping up to 90mg?

Good luck and stay patient!

Let me know how you are doing,

Ace.

Ace (you dont know me, ive been reading quite alot of your nardil motivational speeches and they among others have led me to this nardil decision!

I was on nardil once before and it kicked in quick and heavy.
Im very worried its not going to kick in anymore.. Im on it 18 days but ive been very agressive with titrating. Back then day 20 was the "kaboom" day.

Youve seen this alot that nardil kick-in takes longer upon restarting?

Tell me again how awesome this drug is and that its going to be fine, please!
