Strattera conquered Xanax

Posted by sledwards on November 6, 2003, at 15:34:41

I can say one great thing about Strattera - I was heavily dependent on Xanax - 3 milligrams for 2 1/2 years, it was controlling my life; I was able to stop the horrible Xanax curse only after a few days on Strattera (40mgs) . For this reason only, Strattera saved my life. I realize medication works differently for everyone - but for me, Strattera served as a miracle ...I wonder if the medical field is looking into this phenomenon. As for ADD symptoms, I can tell a difference. Now at 80 mgs. I can hop out of bed in the morning instead of waiting for Adderall to "kick in". I also have more motivation to finish tasks, no fidgets and no anxiety.

By the way, Paxil plus Remaron conquered Xana for me. I needed it and it save my life. But I became an addicted abuser.

Not nessessarily so.

I have been on Xanax for PA, GAD and insomnia, and it has allowed me to have a working life and sleep at night with no hangover effects like Sonata and Ambien.

Unless you were increasing the dose beyond what your doctor prescribed, trying to get a 'high" you were dependant on it, but an addicted abuser?

Not in my opinion.

I took Xanax for years, and Neurontin helped me go from 3 mg. a day to just one 15 mg. a day of Tranxene. I've also recently started taking Strattera, 40 mg. at the moment. What time of day do you take it? Thanks.

I take my first 40 mg. of Strattera upon awakening, then the second around noon.
