I've started taking 10 mg of lexapro and the most immediate side effect is absolute inability to ejaculate. Any suggestions from users? Does this recede? What about stopping in advance of weekends? Or wellbutrin, give it time, give it up, etc?) Much thanks.

This side effect sometimes can lessen in some months. It was not my case, so I am thinking of trying Wellbutrin.
Sometimes you can stop before weekends. It doesn´t work for me because I don´t know when I will have sex, but can work if you can plan when to have it. You must talk to your doctor first, because it can worsen the depression.

I am able to ejaculate once again. So far, the main thing I notice is that orgasms are more intense (as opposed to nonexistent I guess, hehe). And there's a slight increase in interest/desire. So far, so good.
I'm also working with a therapist on the issue because it relates to a social phobia I have, to depression, and to OCD.

Interject!!! You can now ejaculate, have intense orgasms, and more desire!! :) It seems that you are cured of the sexual dysfunction! Do you feel like this?
How much Wellbutrin do you take and how long did it take for you to feel the effects?
Did you have side effects after starting Wellbutrin?

Well I'm pleased with the progress but remaining level-headed about it too. I've always had a fairly low sex drive, and SSRIs have taken it to nothing...anything's an improvement :)
I take 150mg XL, a pretty modest dose. And I noticed some improvement by the second or third dose. I had a similar response with Strattera, so it looks like some of my problem has to do with norepinehrine. I'm not too big on supplements, but DMG (dimethylglycine) is helpful for libido and appears to be safe.

I asked my doctor about wellbutrin and he refuses to prescribe more than one drug at a time? Interject, are you taking wellbutrin in addition to lexapro? Should I see a different doctor (not just to get wellbutrin but because of his being closed-off to the possibility of multiple medications? Do you know about about taking Wellbutrin alone?

I'm on an MAOI (Nardil) and have NO, NONE, ZIPPO desire for sex. Nothing makes me aroused anymore. I never think about sex, etc. I can't get an erection (I'm 31). I tried once a couple weeks ago and it was a tiring event so I stopped. This is horrible. And the worst is they can't add Wellbutrin or many other meds to help out because MAOIs react badly with so many meds.
So, now what do I do? Chop it off and donate it to science?

LOL Jerry.. No, please do not chop it off. I have the same problem. I am 23 (F) and for the past few years, I have had no sex drive whatsoever. Now that I am on Lexapro, I cant even THINK about sex. I have always had a very, very low sex drive and have NEVER had an orgasm during sex... EVER. Pretty depressing huh? Oh well... I dont really like sex anyways... no pleasure for me. Anyways... good luck to you as I am a lost case.

I do take the two in combination. My doctor is very 'up' on all sorts of meds, interactions, and conditions. I'd be a little concerned that your doctor won't combine. Many do only one at a time and like to give you plenty of time to respond to one before adding something else, but most don't mind adding another later.
As I understand, Wellbutrin is not good by itself in a lot of cases. It probably would help pure depression but when there's anxiety or OCD it doesn't fare so well.
