Just started on aurorix, no success on SSRI's or effexor xr, losing hope! Know little about this drug, side effects etc. Becoming very desperate, 'depression/anxiety/eating disorders' have consumed my life, tried and failed many times, any suggestions greatly appreciated. I'm 21, have great family & friends & just want to be happy & in control.

Hi, so glad to hear you have some kind of support system :-) My girlfriend started taking Aurorix 5 months ago. (June) Roche has a somewhat hopeful AD there. I know it's used for SP also. She takes 150mg after breakfast and after dinner.
A search may help you out a lot also.
Talk to your doctor about it, I hope you start to feel better, and good luck!

I've been on moclobemide for close to six months now, and I love the stuff. It's not the most potent drug out there, but there are definitely a number of people who respond very well to it. The good news is the lack of side-effects. Difficulty falling asleep is the most common side-effect, and is usually transient. Moclobemide is slightly stimulating, and there can be a let down as each dose exits your system. If this happens, you could consider several smaller doses throughout the day, instead of two larger doses. This is what I've done, and it's solved the problem. Of course, I'm also extremely sensitive to anything stimulating and you may not even experience a problem.
The side-effects are non-existent for me. In fact, the only "side-effects" I experience are an improvement in memory and all things sexual. It took about 8 weeks to really start to kick in, but I did experienced an initial lift in depression and anxiety when I started the drug. Beyond 8 weeks, it only continues to get better. This drug takes time to exert its effect for me, but as I've been patient, it's proven to be the best drug I've ever been on.
Good Luck,
Jon :) (<-- smiley face is post-moclobemide)ps. I have severe social anxiety and depression, and I take 150mg 3x/day.

I hated the stuff - some of the worst side effects I've had - very speedy, crushing headache and a complete crash as each dose wore off.
I was on 150mg for a week, then 300mg for another week and I just couldn't tolerate it at all and completely crashed and was a weeping wreck for about a fortnight.
I'm much better now on Lexapro.
But then YMMV and I very much hope it works for you as it's tricky going on and off meds ad infinitum!

Hi,
I was on Manerix for about 3 months. It helped alot with energy and motivation. I loved it for that, but it didn't help my awful pms depressive symptoms. That is why I went back on Celexa, but I will have to add something to it, to give me energy and motivation.
I got absolutely no side-effects with Manerix, and I was able to stop it, cold turkey, with absolutely no problems.
It's worth a try for you and I wish you luck.
ps, I really miss the energy it gave me.

Social anxietys a bundle of fun, would have to be what i hate the most and find most difficult to overcome, i pretty much struggle with seeing anyone when im low, i cycle, and it depresses me and frustrates me to no end. For me its a lot to do with confidence, i spend far to much time with self hate, and the mor time i spend alone the more out of control the problem becomes. I want out so badly, often think that days of normality must be grand!Guess you can tell im low today! Anyhow, thanks for your reply, its given me some faith. Enjoy.

> That is the same dose, but i think ill be going up soon. Whats SP? Im assuming that your girlfriend is going well if she has stayed on it for five months? How has it helped her, depression, anxiety, etc? My friends are great, but due to my anxiety and self hate I have a lot of trouble seeing them, it doesn't cause much trouble at the moment because im in another state, but it makes for a lonely existence and i desparetly want normality, to go back and see them and just enjoy them would be grand, hopefully these tabs will be a stepping stone towards that. So have you had any of these issues first hand? The reletionship thing must be hard, i was with my ex for three years but we pretty much ignored the subject, this didn't help. I have now taken myself to a place where reletionships dont even seem possible and i get annoyed with myself for even thinking that i could share this baggage with anyone. Despite this when im up I dont doubt anything, so i guess it depends on how the day takes me. Thanks for your reply, all the best for you and your girlfriend. Enjoy.

Might take me a while to figure this out, im no computer guru, just sent a reply but dont think it worked. Pretty much said said thanks, your reply offers hope. I to have social anxiety and it is what i hate the most, it stops me from seeing my friends and family and from pretty much doing a great deal of what i want to do. Mine stems from a lack of confidence and extreame self hate, i cant bear the thought of people seeing me. You will have to let me know how you manage this. Thanks again for your reply, i spend my day feeling a little more optimistic.
This is the end of the thread.
