Calling all Strattera users

Posted by Mid- Life Crisis on November 7, 2003, at 16:02:43

Have recently increased my Strattera dosage from 60 to 75 mg. per day, probably the highest dose I can take. Had been taking it late at night because it makes me sooo sleepy. I thought this s/e would be gone by now (6 weeks) so tried taking 25 last night, 50 this a.m. to see. No such luck. Have been way too sleepy all day.
Have any of you who have been on strattera longer experienced the disappearance of this s/e or is it a permanent s/e (drowsiness, fatigue)??.

Have you experienced any positive effects? I've been considering Strattera. Has it helped with depression or anxiety?

Yes, there are many positive effects, having to do with being able to get out of bed and get going in the a.m., and being able to be neither "hyper" nor "comatose", but actually in the middle all day (for a change.) Don't know about depression, haven't had it for many years, but my anxiety has been helped by this, especially the frequent feeling of unease. It is totally gone for the first time, and I actually feel calm most of time. If you have ADHD, I recommend you try it. (But get ready to be reeaalllly sleepy at first.)
