Anyone had orgasim problems with nardil and what can you do about it. Hopefully its something that will pass cause ive only been on it 4-5 weeks. wondering if it will get worse as the dosage is increased. I also went from insomnia to feeling very sedated in the afternoon , is this normal?
Thanks

Yes, i suffered these problems. They usually go after a few months. But you can try...
1. 15-20mg Bethenachol before activity
2. Cyproheptadine before activity (Careful as might precipitate panic in some)There is some more I forgot!

Maybe.
I also went from insomnia to feeling very sedated in the afternoon , is this normal?Yeah...lots of people have different reactions to Nardil...usually all the s/effects pass but.
> Thanks
Youre not on the 'Gluten free' Nardil are you? If so, get the old formulation. The new formulation doesn't seem to work.

How do you know you have the old formulation. The one I have now is a orange tablet with PD 270 on it
It doesnt have a shiny coating, looks like an aspirn. The pharmacy didnt even have any to start with , they had to order it.

I took nardil for about 15 yrs and can speak with some authority at least from my own experience. I had no orgazms above 45 mg. it did not get better. You might try switching to parnate if the problem persists - it is much more benign on side effects of all sorts.

Will the parnate be as effective with social anxiety ?

I get mine from medicap pharmacy. Import the old version from where?
From Link Pharmaceuticals Australia or UK.
Wont the old version run out sooner or later.
No. I actually think the new version is gonna die- 1 person I've heard is actually taking Pfizer to court. Link will always have the old version.
Why do some places have the old and some have the new.Because Pfizer stocks it someplaces and Link stock it to others...
where do you get your ?
From Link Pharmaceuticals of course!!!

That's not good. Thankfully for me, anorgasmia sets in at about 90mg then gets better after a few months. You can always use other meds to get the orgasma back...
You might try switching to parnate if the problem persists - it is much more benign on side effects of all sorts.

According to research...no. According to most, but not all, anecdotes I've seen (and I've seen a lot)...no.

The sedation does wear off after supper.(What kind of psychostimulant would you suggest) , You dont think it would have an effect on blood pressure ?
As always thank you for your wisdom !

RE your two concerns - parnate for social anxiety and daytime sleepiness:
parnate and nardil work differently - from each other, for different individuals - I found nardil activating and parnate a bit sedating but i've read lots of posts from others who found the opposite - that's one reason to try parnate. when i took nardil i just drank coffee when i got tired.
re social anxiety, yes, nardil was better but it got be way buzzed. there is a social anxiety assn that actually recommends parnate over nardil. again, i think results vary by individual so it is worth trying a different mao if side effects and anxiety levels dictate. i say this knowing is a major nardil player. nardil worked wonders for me for manyyears. best of luck. phil
