Seroquel - has anyone used this for anxiety?

Posted by krybrahaha on October 27, 2003, at 2:16:47

I take Luvox for OCD and I also have GAD too. Luvox doesnt really help my GAD, I was put on Tranxene (i have also tried klonopin, ativan, and valium) The Tranxene seemed to work a little at first, but doesnt seem to be working much anymore and is causing me some cognitive difficulties. Like picking up the phone and forgetting who Im going to call, or walking in a room to get something and forget and talking to someone and suddenly forgetting what i was talking about.
My question is: My P-doc mentioned Seroquel in a low dose added to the Luvox to help my GAD. Has anyone added and Antipsychotic for their anxiety?

It's 1:30am can't sleep but here goes:

There is a start of a thread here that was started back in March of this year that I hope help you some:

http://www.drbob.org/babble/20030301/msgs/206106.html

It starts off 'Can Seroquel be used in Depression/Anxiety?'

From personal experience Effexor helped my GAD A LOT, but Luvox didn't seem to help with it. I just added a low dose of Seroquel for my anxiety, and sleep about 2 weeks ago, and it helps!

Good luck:-)

I personally use Neurontin for anxiety, but my sister uses Seroquel for anxiety with good results. Karen

Karen, I'm glad your sister has good results with Seroquel. May I ask what dosage she is on, do you know?

She was allowed to take up to 4 mgs, but only needed to take 2 at one time. She eventually discontinued Seroquel because she became pregnant. She just had her baby. Karen
