My doctor says that Abilify does not have anti-anxiety properties the way that some antipsychotics do. Does this agree with people's experience?
Since switching to Abilify from Clozaril and Risperdal, I have been getting mild, intermittent anxiety (besides not being able to sleep).

It is not as sedating as Risperdal or Clozaril - this may be what you are experiencing.

My son was taking Abilify for Schz. with Lexapro for Anti Anxiety. Abilify did not let him sleep. A support group member told me she takes it in the morning and it works well for her. There should be a suitable anti-anxiety med to take in the aft/ evening to help you sleep. The choices could be made from Zoloft, Celexa, Lexapro, Klonopin etc. Ask your doctor about which would be best. Zoloft works for my son but everyone is different.
