Ambien-induced hallucinations?

Posted by KimberlyDi on October 10, 2003, at 13:17:09

During a very stressful time in my life, I asked, for the first time, for a small prescription of sleeping pills.

Two nights, I woke up to see beautiful colors shimmering on the walls. Dark purples, mauves and blues. Didn't scare me a bit, but certainly freaked my husband out! lol

Is 10mg of Ambien a small dosage?

Yes, it is a small dose. And yes, you will hallucinate if you remain awake after taking Ambien. That being said, I think Ambien rocks and is a valuable tool in my med box.

I'm glad to know this is normal because this had happened to me once, I had actually kind of enjoyed it, watched a movie, got all tripped out. In any case it's a relief to know that it's a common response;one less thing to worry about.

I took Ambian a couple of times while hospitalized and what I had were the most vivid dreams!

Yea it must be common. Although I've never hallucinated off it, and i took 100 mgs once :-\, my friend saw pink pigs and stuff at a low dose like 10 or 20 mg.

Yes, enjoy it but don't take it on an airplane because you might have traveler's amnesia when you arrive.
