My doctor took me off Welbutrin because I had anxiety and put me on celexa. I am worried becuase I gained a lot of weight from binge eating. She said that it would actually help control that and weight loss would occur from it. Anybody have experience with it?

I'm sorry Bellissima (sorry, couldn't resist that one<smiles>), but both one of my sisters and I put on weight from celexa. I put on weight from every SSRI I ever took. On a more positive note, it IS listed in the side effects that weight loss may occur from that type of drug, so maybe you will be a lucky one :) I certainly have heard that celexa is less likely to make you gain weight than paxil, and I can vouch for that....at least in terms of amount gained.
I do hope that at least you get a break from anxiety....

I curently take 60 mg Celexa, will be 80 mg tonight. I have no problems with weight gain from the Celexa. I actualy had a period where I could not eat and lost a lot of weight when I was taking ONLY Celexa 40 mg.
I also take zyprexa which keeps me eating, 5 mg.

Unfortuantly no I have not had any weight-loss on Celexa (I've been on it a few months now). However it is one of the only ones where my appetite hasn't been voracious. Most SSRIs cause weight gain for a lot of folks.
