Hi. I was recently diagnosed with Bipolar. My dr prescribed Depakote 250 mg for the first 5 days, than 500 mg a day after that. The pharmacist said to take it before i go to bed since it can cause drowsiness. Well i havent slept in 4 days, well not more than an hour at a time. I am soooo exhausted. Is this normal? I am going to up it to the 500 mg starting tommorow, do i take them both at the same time ( 250 each pill), or 1 , than 1 later on? Should i take them when i wake up? Or what? Please someone help.

In reply to Depakote, what time of day to take it?, posted by Michelle0202 on September 27, 2003, at 0:30:17
Take it all at once 2 hours befor bed. You may just need the higher dose to be able to sleep.
This is the end of the thread.
