Ok, I've read that when Serotonin is increased Dopamine is lowered and vice-versa. So, would that not mean if I took a Serotonin Reuptake Accelerator my Dopamine levels would increase??

In my personal experience (taking 100 mg tid for 8 months, it is not a strong antidepressant. During times when I have the depression under pretty good control, I stop lexapro and take tianeptine because there are such good reported brain-protective effects (increased BNDF, protection of the hippocampus from shrinkage by cortisol, normalizing of neurotransmitter levels). It is considered a good AD in Europe, especially in France, but I have not found any strongly favorable reports here. Have you had any personal experience with it?

I have no personal experience with tianeptine. I am just curious because of its unusual mechanism of action.

You were on a 100mg?!? I'm taking 12.5 mg 3x daily. Anyways, I just got mine today. I'm really interested in it for many reasons. The biggest being that I'm tried Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil and they all made my problems worse. So taking Stablon could really help since it does the opposite of ssris. Plus it indirectly increases dopamine a little bit. And it reduces the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal response to stress. We'll see I guess... I'll post updates on how it's working for me.

Where dod you read this ? Deritonin and Dopamin are not increased by mds, that is not the method of action.
So, would that not mean if I took a Serotonin Reuptake Accelerator my Dopamine levels would increase??
It is a reuptake inhibator not accelerator. I don't really think there is such thing as an SSRA ! In any case it does not work this way.
What is effected it **regulation** & effecting the regulation of one does effect the other.

only to mild depression and to old people due to low-risks side effects. But if you are too much depressive, forguet it.

Sorry! I've taken so many darn AD's that i got the dosages mixed up- it was 12.5 tid. I really do like the neuroprotective functions of Stablon- just wish it had had a stronger Ad effect for me. But good luck to you with it!
