Hello,
I know there's been posts about this before, but my question is has anyone experinced Effexor withdrawls that resulted in making the depression worse? I have been switched to Zoloft and my doc had me stop taking Effexor and switch to Zoloft without a "weaning" period. Also, how long did your withdrawl symptoms last?

Yes, I would say that after being off Effexor for approx 3 wks now I am having difficulty with being depressed, but not too bad. The initial withdrawal symptoms the first two weeks after being tapered for 2 wks were the scariest. They included: Constant nausea, dizziness, headaches, flu-like symptoms. Felt like I had a fever, but did not, fatigue, weird noise in head that would come briefly, then go away, loss of balance, anxiety, nightmares, and a general spaceyness in the head. I hope I don't scare you, but you might ask that the Effexor be tapered while switching to another drug. Best Wishes.
